Filmed in 2015, The Founder Effect is a short film centred around the disappearance of a young boy, and the immediate aftermath of his going missing. The film is silent, save for its musical score and sound effects. The project was captured in Kelowna, British Columbia, and was the first narrative short film produced under the Roguescots banner.

A feature length adaptation was produced between 2021 and 2022, with an expected 2023 release..
